Nicholas Campbell & Cruising Rangoon won the Intermediate-Novice section at Pontispool at the weekend. Nick had been undecided whether to run his second horse after a 10th place in the Novice on Caresso, but he was swayed by a super dressage of 23.8 & a clear show jumping. He finished strongly & not even 1.2 time penalties for going too fast could wipe the smile off his face as he finished 5 points clear of Coral Keen & Stylistic Opposition in 2nd place. “ I’ve never had time faults for going too fast before ! ” beamed Nick afterwards. He now will go to Longleat next month before doing a 1* later in the year.

Nick & his partner Lucienne Elms run a livery & event training facility at Escombe Equestrian which hosted the Ebbesbourne Wake Horse Trials in April & is situated between Salisbury & Shaftesbury.
