Gatcombe (1) Horse Trials 2011
There are more photos of the Kiwi riders on horsetalk http://www.horsetalk.co.nz/news/2011/03/224.shtml
There were several people who took the longer route at the two walls & trakehner fence coming out of the woods. These were separately numbered to allow those with less experienced horses, or confidence, to set up for each fence individually. The key thing was to make it obvious to the fence judges what you were intending to do. One rider, of fairly good experience, had jumped the two walls on a curve & had the presence of mind to shout "Not Presenting !!" - The only problem was that this was as they were going sideways in a clear refusal at the trakehner. It was a nice try but just a bit too late !!
